Normand Brière has been a Trustee of the Massawippi Conservation Trust and a member of the Board of Directors of the Massawippi Foundation since 2019.
Normand has acquired more than 30 years of experience in the field of commercial real estate. He held the position of Vice-President, Mortgage Investments and Institutional Financing, for 15 years at Desjardins Financial Security. He has also held management positions in commercial real estate at the Royal Bank and the Caisse de Dépôt et placement du Québec. Normand holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Université du Québec à Montréal and is a chartered appraiser (retired).
He is a member of the Real Estate Advisory Committee of the Hydro-Québec pension fund and a member of the Investment Committee of the Fiera Real Estate Fund (Funds II and IV).
His knowledge has contributed to the realization of several property acquisitions in the Lake Massawippi watershed area in order to protect them in perpetuity.
Normand is passionate about travel and outdoor activities including hiking, alpine and Nordic skiing and golf. It was during a hike on the trails of Scown Park that he met Mahicans Diamond, who is responsible for the design and development of the Trust’s trails. Normand was impressed by his professionalism. The trails developed by Mahicans blend in perfectly with the environment.
Since becoming a member of the Trust, Normand has been supervising the work carried out by Mahicans and his team. In addition, as part of his role as a trustee, he very much enjoys meeting landowners who are interested in our organization. His approach inspires confidence and his knowledge of real estate fosters strong and lasting partnerships.
We therefore greatly appreciate his contribution and are grateful that he is a member of our organization’s management.
